Safer Tram Crossings

Safer Tram Crossing Project:

Working with the Light Rail Safety Standards Board (LRSSB), we have initiated the 'Safer Tram Crossings' project in which we are undertaking research and development towards vibration based detection and warning systems for tramways. (17/09/2025 Press Release)

Throughout this project we will be developing the technology to deliver Safety, Reliability and a Whole Life Cost that enables the risk to the public to be reduced so far as is reasonably practicable (SFAIRP).

Working with University of Birmingham Enterprise we are rapidly approaching our next development milestones and plans for on site trials:
