Safe Rail Vibrations Project

Efficiency Ups established the Safe Rail Vibrations Project to develop VibeSafe fail-safe technology with the aim of reducing the risk of people being struck by trains whilst enhancing efficiency and flexibility in delivery of work across the rail industry.

This project received feasibility stage funding by the Department for Business and Trade through the competition  ‘Global Centre of Rail Excellence: railway construction innovation’ delivered by InnovateUK.

Collaborating with the University of Southampton, the feasibility project was successful and the results from Network Rail's RIDC Melton Mowbray test track provided confidence that VibeSafe detects and provides effective warning of trains.

VibeSafe was exhibited at the Rail Innovation Exhibition 2023 on 18th October 2023
